Mentorship & Support for Foster Teens

Oasis Grand Champions connects teens in foster care, ages 14+, with mentors who provide personalized support and encouragement.

Caring for a teen takes a village — Oasis is Here to help.

The Oasis Grand Champions program partners with foster families and caregivers to provide trusted adult mentors for teens ages 14+ who can benefit from additional guidance, encouragement, and connection. Through consistent mentorship and engaging group activities, Grand Champions help young people build confidence, life skills, and meaningful relationships in a safe and supportive environment.

Volunteers in the Grand Champions program commit to mentoring one child weekly for one full year, giving relationships time to grow naturally and meaningfully. Mentors coordinate directly with foster families or caregivers to determine the best meeting times and locations.

Our Approach to Mentorship

Mentors are trained to work with adolescents using trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning, and life skills development.

Meetings between mentors and teens focus on creating a positive, judgment-free relationship where teens feel seen, heard, and supported.

Our goal is to support caregivers, not replace them. Mentors encourage teens’ emotional growth, confidence, and social development.
