Donna Pesek
Donna Pesek has dedicated over 35 years to education, teaching across a wide range of age groups. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a focus on Vocational Home Economics. Early in her career, Donna taught business education courses, including word processing and secretarial skills, at several small colleges. She also supervised a college computer lab, providing support and guidance to students.
Her career evolved into child development, where she contributed to a research project aimed at evaluating the quality of care and instruction provided by licensed childcare providers. At a non-profit organization, Donna supervised representatives in the state food program, designing engaging health and nutrition lessons for school-age children.
Donna spent a decade as a paraprofessional with the Special School District, assisting K–8 children with special needs. During this time, she also cared for her mother, an experience that deepened her interest in working with older adults. Her passion for health and wellness led her to become certified in several Oasis programs, as well as earning certifications as a Fitness Instructor and in Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention.
Today, Donna shares her knowledge by teaching health-related classes and workshops at a senior living facility. She finds immense joy in teaching, not only for the opportunity to educate but also for what she learns from her participants. For Donna, teaching is a two-way street—an exchange of knowledge and life experiences that enriches everyone involved.
