Dr. Michael Faris is a social justice artist and art instructor. He is a former Assistant Professor of Art Education at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.

Faris has exhibited his artworks at the Kranzberg Art Center of St. Louis, Columbia College, the Evansville Museum of Arts and Science, the St. Louis Artists’ Guild, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the Indianapolis Art Center, the Springfield Art Association, Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, the University of Nebraska, and many other locations.

Faris earned his PhD in art education at Indiana University, Bloomington.

Faris lives in Fairview Heights, Illinois, with his wife Debra.
