I hold a B.A. in History from Washington University and earned an M.A. in Counseling Psychology as well as a Master’s in Historic Theology from St. Louis University. My professional journey in education has seen me teaching Global History at St. Louis University High School and both American History and AP U.S. History at Evansville Day School in Evansville, IN. In retirement, I have dedicated a decade to the Missouri History Museum, where I delivered an array of lectures covering topics such as a five-part series on the Civil War, discussions on George Washington, the history of St. Louis, American slavery, Thomas Jefferson, Prohibition, Manifest Destiny, and Religion in America. A highlight of my lecture series was a comprehensive 30-part presentation in the spring of 2018 titled “Great Moments in American History,” which traced the evolution of the United States from its first inhabitants to the Civil Rights Movement. In addition to these engagements, I have led numerous programs at Oasis in Clayton, MO, and presented for various groups including DAR chapters, Civil War Roundtable, Les Amis, Frog Talks (a French colonial reenactment group), and several PEO chapters and clubs in Alton and Godfrey. My commitment to historical education and community engagement is further reflected in my 13 years of volunteer service at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, IL, where I also present lectures to volunteers and offer private tours to diverse groups.
