Ancient Egyptian Art
The gold funerary mask of the pharaoh Tutankhamun is an iconic work of ancient Egyptian art. Learn about this 3,300-year-old object in depth through an examination of its form and function, as well as the challenge of its removal from the king’s mummy in 1925. The exhibition history of the mask will also be discussed. This course will be held online via Zoom. A link will be emailed to the class.
