What was medicine like in ancient Egypt and how do we know? Take a Anne Austinlook at the ways in which archaeologists can reconstruct diseases, health care and medicine in ancient Egypt. From bones to texts, examine what researchers know about some of the earliest examples of medicine in the world. Discover the types of diseases archaeologists and physicians have been able to document in Egyptian bones and mummies, and take a look at the oldest Egyptian medical treatise. We’ll even translate hieroglyphs to understand how the Egyptians thought about and treated illnesses.
